1. Upcoming Events

Beside the Point writers from February’s issue read their work! Come hear Dyanna Cope, Megan Gatrell, and Curran Dobbs read their pieces at Planet Earth Poetry on March 12.  The event starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Black Stilt Coffee House (which is licensed). It’s at the corner of Hillside and Shelbourne, 1633 Hillside.

Our next submission deadline is March 15. For the first time, we will publish in September in both print and online, so send us your best work!

2. Calls for Submissions

These calls for submissions come from external organizations and are provided as a resource to writers.

 The Victoria Writers’ Society is sponsoring its 9th Annual Writing Competition. Submit your best poetry, fiction or creative non-fiction. The contest is open to all residents of Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. The deadline is May 1, 2010 and the entry fee is $15 per entry.
